Sandra Bullock Opens Up About Oscars Host Drama: ‘It’s a Thankless Job’

Sandra Bullock knows hosting the Oscars is one of the toughest jobs in show business..

The Bird Box actress chatted with Today‘s Hoda Kotb about her upcoming Netflix thriller before Kotb brought up the controversial search for an Oscars host after Kevin Hart dropped out. But the Oscar winner and ceremony vet knows it’s hard to really succeed at the job.

“It’s a thankless job. No matter who does it. You get excited and then by the end they’re like, ‘It was long,’ ” Bullock, 54, says. “You’re meant to make fun of people. It’s always going to go long. Book the Oscars for four and a half hours and let it be. And if it ends early, fantastic, have a backup.”

Hart dropped out of the hosting job two days after confirming he would be helming the show after previous homophobic tweets were surfaced. Though he originally shared a video saying he would not apologize for the comments and tweets, Hart, 39, said he would step aside from the prestigious gig two hours later and also finally said he was sorry.

“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past,” he tweeted.

“I’m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.’

Sarah Jessica Parker paid tribute to legendary celebrity hairstylist Oribe Canales’ after his passing devastated the fashion and beauty world.

The actress joined a group of other stars, including Jennifer LopezCindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista who mourned the loss of Oribe on social media on Monday by sharing a photo of herself with the hair icon on set of a photo shoot alongside a touching caption.

“Your kindness, joy for life and extraordinary talent will be missed. I will treasure forever my memories of working and playing with you and feel privileged that they are many. You leave a lasting legacy. RIP. X, SJ,” Parker said.

Oribe’s hair career began in Manhattan, when he moved to the city after high school to pursue acting.

“It’s devastating for everyone that loves him,” Campbell, 48, told us.

Her tight-knit relationship with Oribe has spanned more than three decades, after they instantly hit it off for the first time  on set of an American Vogue shoot in 1986. “I walked into another world with [photographer] Steven [Meisel], Oribe, [makeup artist] François [Nars] and [then-Vogue fashion director and stylist] Carlyne [Cerf de Dudzeele]. I came off the concord at 16, went straight to the studio and it was like I walked into another world,” she said.

She added, “There is nothing he wouldn’t do. There is nothing he would say no to. Everything was possible to do with him. Even the impossible,” a teary Campbell tells us adding, “We felt amazing by Oribe’s touch. He helped so many other hairdressers today by guiding them, mentoring them and giving them their start. He is to be celebrated because he is such an incredible human being.”

Chrissy Teigen ‘Struggling’ to Find a Meal Her Daughter Wants: ‘Spending My Days Making a Menu’

Chrissy Teigen has a picky eater on her hands — but if anyone can solve the problem, it’s a renowned cookbook author.

On Monday, the Cravings creator, 33, vented on Twitter about her 2½-year-old daughter Luna Simone‘s very particular appetite.

“I always came from the mindset of ‘eat what we serve or go to bed hungry’ but I’m officially owned by my toddler, struggling to make a *dinner* luna likes aside from spaghetti and fish sticks,” she lamented. “Any ideas welcome!”

The mom of two, who also has 7-month-old son Miles Theodore with husband John Legend, is going to great lengths to come up with an answer.

“I’m spending my days making a menu, cooking and plating every meal and taking pics so my DARLING ANGEL will eat something WHO HAVE I BECOME … I just love projects,” Teigen wrote.

That same day, Luna gave coconut chicken tenders and broccoli a try. “Coconut chicken tenders for toons. Man even portrait mode can’t save this. I tried,” Teigen posted on Instagram.

Satisfying Luna’s taste buds is helpful research as Teigen writes a cookbook for kids. At the New York City Wine and Food Festival in October, the model and Lip Sync Battle host revealed that she had undertaken the new project with children in mind.

“I really wanna make it awesome,” she said. “I know kids have really simple palates and we all want to make them more refined, but they’re just kids, so we’re gonna do stuff that kids are going to love.”

“It’s going to be so good,” Teigen noted. “Hopefully it’s Luna-approved.”

Congratulations, Chevel Shepherd!

The 16-year-old singer — who has become known for her classic honky-tonk sound and yodeling talents — was crowned the winner of season 15 of The Voice on Tuesday.

Shepherd’s win marks the second victory in a row for two-time coach Kelly Clarkson, who won last season with her contestant Brynn Cartelli.

Shepherd beat out Team Blake Shelton‘s Kirk Jay and Chris Kroeze, and Team Jennifer Hudson‘s Kennedy Holmes.

The seasoned musician ran up onto the stage and gave Shepherd a big hug. The 16-year-old vocal powerhouse — while supremely talented — was not the odds-on favorite to take the top spot.

Shepherd has also become known for her unique talent of yodeling. She previously told reporters that she learned how to yodel when she was 11 years old after her mom showed her a video. Soon after that, she fell in love with it and kept on practicing.

Still coming to terms with her Voice crown, Shepard struggled to put into words just how she is feeling.

You don’t usually see members of the royal family with flashy nails. Prim and polished shades, like pale pink and sheer neutral, are more their style. Queen Elizabeth and Kate Middleton famously love Essie’s iconic nail polish in Ballet Slippers, a quintessential soft pink shade. However, Meghan Markle attended The Fashion Awards 2018 on Monday night donning what appears to be a burgundy polish. This nail color is, well, different for the Duchess.

There’s a reason you’ve never seen Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth wearing a vivid nail color in public. According to People, it’s unofficial royal protocol to stay away from bright nail polishes, because they can be too distracting. The neutral nail color trend within the Royal Family has been a thing since 1989. People also reports that Queen Elizabeth’s manicurist specifically requested the Essie nail polish in Ballet Slippers because it was the “the only color Her Majesty would wear.”

Here’s what Meghan’s nails looked like last night.

In the past, Meghan has played it safe with conventional nail shades. Like on her wedding day, when she wore a sheer pink shade.

Markle clearly wasn’t concerned about her nails not blending in at the British Fashion Awards. This is a prime example of Markle doing her own thing when it comes to “rules.” It’s almost 2019, and strict “protocol” when it comes to beauty feels like a thing of the past. I must say, she’s very much on trend with winter’s most popular nail color, and I vote for more dark nail polish appearances to come.
